RESTAURANT

The genius in Evan's Kitchen is award-winning Chef Evan Elsberry with the assistance of chefs Tom Feltenberger and Bryan Turner, Evan's nephews; and California Culinary Academy grad and former 15-year owner of Sacramento Catering, John McCrackin.

Evan’s cooking career began in 1981 under the tutelage of popular Sacramento Italian chef Frank Parisi who taught Evan the importance of always using the best ingredients and providing a first-rate product. Chef Evan has always followed his advice. Chef Evan is known in East Sacramento for his fabulous Wine Dinners, his volunteer efforts in local fund-raisers, and his special meal-events such as his Pumpkin Carving buffet and the popular Gingerbread House-building dinner. Many Sacramentans know him also from his frequent appearances on local television as featured chef and his California State Fair competitions. After taking second place at the 2003 California State Fair Professional Chef Challenge, Chef Evan moved up to first place in 2004. The judges were impressed with both the Wine Merchant Steak that was awarded first place in the preliminary, and the Filet Mignon that won the final round. Evan placed in the final round again in 2005, placed second in his round in 2006, and second overall in 2008. Check our recipe page for these recipes and Evan's signature lamb chops and delicious seafood dish that won awards.

Evan has more recently served as Chef at The Family Room, Andiamo!, and the Limelight Cafe. He has also worked at the Clarion Hotel, the Delta King and America Live.

Evan's Kitchen is proof that one does not have to go "downtown", or go "upscale" to find an excellent meal. It's available in East Sacramento, with an ambiance that you will find comfortable and homelike. Our wood tables and chairs can be arranged for large groups. And our eight historic booths of Andiamo fame are great for cozy seating. We also have a play area for young children so parents can relax while their children amuse themselves close at hand.

Because the restaurant is closed on Mondays, it can be made available for any occasion that is suitable for an individual party, breakfast, lunch or dinner meeting or any other event where a space for dining in a group setting is required.
